★ ★ ★ ★ ★ New World Wanaka is the best grocery store in town. They have a huge selection of fruits, vegetables, meats, prepared foods, etc. They also have tons of cleaning supplies, various gear, whatnot. The Four Square on the other side of town is nice, but much smaller and more limited. We enjoyed their roast chicken and a fresh afghan biscuit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We are visitors to Wanaka and we went into New World this afternoon to get a few things.
The checkout operator couldn’t have been anymore rude - she didn’t say much at all but the body movement and facials to us was horrible.
We both came away thinking she needed to find another position - maybe one that wasn’t dealing with the public.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Purchased 2 packets of Golden Crumpets, one packet was fine we placed the other packet in our fridge decided after a few days to eat them to find they were mouldy, checked the use by date on the bottom of the packet to find we purchased them a day after the use by date had expired, tried to call New World Wanaka a number of times but couldn't get through to grocery department, so gave up in the end.
