About Northcote Primary School
Welcome to the strong and proud Kauri Team. There are five classes in the Kauri Team, and we enjoy working with each other and the different teachers in our team. All of the Kauri Team classes are made up from our Year 5 and 6 children. Our classrooms are located in Rooms 11, 12, 13, 14 & 15.
Kauri Team children are encouraged to be individuals, yet work as part of team. We set our expectations high for our children and work towards achieving individual goals, experience and expertise. We take pride in being role models to the other students in our school.
At the beginning of each year, the Kauri Team travel to camp for 2-3 nights. We have two different camp venues that we go to on alternate years. One camp is a ‘Bush Camp’ in Hunua, and the alternate venue is Carey Park in Henderson Valley.
We have professional dance lessons toward the end of the year where we teach our children how to ‘Cha-cha’, ‘Rock and Roll’ and a number of other dances. We finish the lessons with a formal social night where the children enjoy dancing the steps they have learnt.
