Update: 1st back to Nova Cafe in a long time and still up there in my top 5 in Dunedin. Food and coffee still ??, i had the Nova Bagel special breakfast with beetroot jam, greens, bacon, half an avocado, egg on a bagel bun.
Sooooo goood!! ❤️ ❤️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited approximately 3-weeks ago on a weekday evening; the food was amazing, a lovely chicken dish stuffed with spinach and ricotta (I think), along with some roasted veges.
Visited again last nite as I had raved about the food to my husband, and it was my birthday!
Very disappointing visit; menu had completely changed, and was presented on an A4 size piece of paper rather than on the Nova cards
Due to the menu changes, very limited to what I could have, ending up choosing the burger and my husband had the steak; could have gone anywhere for a burger, wasn't expecting to be eating one in Nova ☹
Staff were great, but sadly, we won't be visiting again, for the food choices available and the costings of what we ate, definitely not worth it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Staff were friendly and food was okay, but the service did take quite a long time, and was a bit disappointed by the $80+ shared meal (in photo). Overall probably a bit overpriced for what is served.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place. Good food. Not because my son is one of the chef there. When me and my wife ate there, my son was off duty. So, this is an independent review. The food arrangement is artistic. Tasty, good mix of flavours. Very relaxing place. Staff are friendly. And, they have a new Head Chef who came from one of the prominent restaurants in UK .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our meal was outstanding (a great chef) but most of all, the waiter was very friendly. And that last bit is something we needed so badly after these two challenging years. Keep going strong. Greetings from farmers who now and then seek some culture, art, food and hospitality in the city.
