β β β β β I had car troubles and called the police for a ride, of the six pairs of boots on the ground, five came across professionally, impartial, doing their job well.
There is always an egg or two that spoil the basket. Officer Vi**** Terem***. The first words spoken were in an accusatory, matter of fact, condescing, pretentious manner. There's no room for disrespect, or potentially aggravating an otherwise amicable interaction.
The rest of the individual police on the ground I dealt with on the day (I feel confident it was the whole roster available), I appreciate your work.
Detectives. Just wow. Revamp on the solicitor generals charging guidelines, and remember the person is detained, not a criminal. Two minutes or three questions would have resulted in a witness statements credibility being shredded, more than likely leveraging bail in the opposite way. Unfathomable, there was never a single question asked, at any point. Not a single piece of supporting evidence, but heavily relied on for "public safety". Also detective/(s?), am itinerary of items seized in a search (house warrant) to be provided no later than 14 days from the search or when otherwise practicable, definitely, does not equate to no list and missing property after 16 months.
Short story.
1) Uniforms you deal with day to day in New Plymouth seem well suited for their roles, with (in my experience) a single exception.
2)Anything beyond the initial arrest is using leverage where possible. Holding charges, overcharging, and delaying court dates to entice the preferable guilty pleas. Along with the difficulty in regard to disclosure, it's a frustrating, manipulative jurisdiction.
3)Talk to the guys/girls on the ground, they're decent humans. Get arrested and charged somewhere the prosecuting guidelines are used effectively and in a fair manner in regard to the dependent.
Rant over, no detail on the incident itself, but that wouldn't aide in the reviews purpose at all. Will add photos if I find them In storage.
