Beautiful walk to such a amazing waterfall it's a shame it doesn't get the attraction it deserves

An amazing walk through the fields and fern forest that takes your breath away when your reach the final point. We were completely alone on the track the whole time. This was a nature experience of New Zealand that we hoped to get!

Beautiful place to visit. Serene and peaceful. Clean unspoilt bush walks. Just soul restoring. Makes you appreciate natural beauty.

Visited on a rainy day. Beautiful waterfall! On a difficulty scale from 1-5(5 being very difficult) I would rate it as a 2.5. Most of the walk is pretty level with not much of an incline. There are a few areas however, that require exertion. Some stairs are involved. Would require closed shoes such as tennis shoes in my opinion. Not stroller friendly. It is Family friendly. Water access involved so keep an eye on the kids. However most areas, the water is very shallow so kids could enjoy a splash if desired. What makes this waterfall a solid 4- star doesn't have to do with the waterfall only. It has a lot to do with the cliff and mountain Bush at the end of the track as well. Farm animals can be spotted on the hills along the track.

It’s a beautiful, majestic & roaring waterfall sitting in the mid of Wanganui River. There’s a 1-hr return walking track through a bush that’s a bit muddy at the start but overall quite tidy & dry walkway. There’s a narrow & long suspension bridge across the river that allows only 2 persons on it at any one time. After the crossing another 10-15 min walk up a gentle slope there stands a platform that oversees the waterfall. I give 4-star because both the lookout platform & the car park are too small.

It is a decent walk to see the falls with a 1 hour return walk. But it is definitely worth seeing. Being quite far into the bush there is lots of native birds to see and while I was there only passed one other group of people. One thing to note is there is a small swing bridge so make sure you're prepared! Definitely worth seeing Omaru Falls!

Worth the visit. Only 60 minutes return to the car park. Well maintained track. Good to go during rainy season because that will add volume of water at the falls. There is a small car park where you can park your car. The track is visible on the left. We went during summer. I think during heavy rain the track can be bit muddy but good for the waterfall. You can walk to the top of the waterfall but be very careful.

Easy family friendly walk , ages 5 , 4 & 4 months did it with ease. 1 hour return walk. Definitely worth it. There's some beautiful stops along the way also and the kids had a swim in some Rock pools. Definitely a easy one for the family.
