β β β β β What an absolute treat! We stayed in the railway accommodation and it was perfect. We arrived by water taxi, spent the first day exploring some of the walks, enjoyed the home cooked dinner they offered and the next day explored some of the other walks. We were purely there to relax and it was the perfect spot for that. If you're more of a self caterer they have loads of amenities to allow you to cook and look after yourself but I suggest you opt for their dinner, great value. Lovely hosts.

- we asked you the day prior if conditions were appropriate and you said yes
- there was a tree fallen on the track over a cliff edge which you have received photos of.
- we departed at 9am and we could not call you until we were back in nelson due to reception- we attempted to at lunchtime
- you did not offer us a reasonable refund given that we attempted the track based on your advice, and could not use any of the facilities we paid for
- you became obstructive demanding we get a lawyer in contact. When we did you cowered and stopped replying. We could quite like it if you would re-engage in the conversation.

β β β β β Caution. The lodge cancelled our booking last minute - the night before, after we had travelled 5 hours from Christchurch. They only accept reservations for a minimum of 2 nights. No mention of this on their website nor our confirmation email. Owner had a very poor attitude on the phone - no apology and implied it was our fault. Surprise birthday weekend ruined. Hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Great hosts, hot tub was a great help after walk ?
Guest meals were beautiful. Great to be able to catch up with fellow walkers over dinner and a drink.
Different themed style of accommodation available including furnished rail carrage, awesome !!

β β β β β Such a gem of a spot. Great hosts. Amazing food. Clean and comfy spaces with oodles of character. Fun evening of board games with friends after an epic hike. So good for the soul. A Marlborough must do!

β β β β β Had a wonderful stay at this unique lodge for a friend's special birthday. Bush walks during the day, followed by Spud's good cheer and hearty meals in the evening. Slept in the restored railway carriage -- a lovely environment for relaxing and sleeping, quality linen and high volume hot shower. Strongly recommend as an escape from the hustle and pressures of everyday life.

β β β β β Loved my time there. Friendly, helpful and lovely hosts. Can recommend staying two nights to have a 'down' day kayaking and doing the walks in the bay - loved swimming in the waterfalls.
The accommodation was lovely - so great to have such a comfortable bed after the hike in.
The food was plentiful and yummmmmmmmy. I had a perfect weekend of exercise and down time - loved it.
