★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Never knew Opotiki had a museum or how good it was! First floor is all manner of everyday implements and stuff from the surrounding area collected and displayed in little groups e.g. Collection of stuff from the old Opotiki hospital, farming implements & stationary engines, etc. Second floor is less exciting with old photos from the past & geological stuff. The third floor is a real treasure with a big selection of Maori artifacts & mock-ups of various homes during Opotiki's history.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My expectations weren't too high after looking at the downstairs (it was an eclectic mix of random looking items), but upstairs and the mezzanine were fascinating.
Overall, the museum was clean and well organised.
