Opunake Primary School - Opunake Primary School Longfellow Road
1st and 2nd June: Our Year 2 to 8 students will be working alongside Justin Lowcay from St Johns to learn about basic first aid. I think we will all have read some story in the newspaper about how these classes have saved an adult or another child's life because the students who attended these courses knew what to do in an emergency.
15th & 16th June: Parent/student/teacher three way conferences to discuss reports. Judy will circulate a booking sheet next week.
On the 24th June we celebrate our new public holiday to celebrate Matariki. On the 22nd June we will be completing a number of activities to learn about this celebration. Once these are planned we will be sharing this with you. We hope to have some parent involvement on this day. We are not sure what this will look like at this stage. As part of learning about Matarikiki students in the Year 3 to 6 classes will be going down to the library, for some one of activities with Eileen Kolai-Tuala Kaitiaki Pukapuka RātongaAhurea | Cultural Services Librarian Te Kaunihera ō Taranaki ki Te Tonga | South Taranaki District Council. This is an exciting opportunity for our students to learn off site.
