β β β β β Great coffee and awesome historical setting and buildings. There is also a wee cemetery to the working dogs of the farm. Just remember, the Farm museum & cafe areas are free to enter, however there is an entry fee to the park proper. $5 per adult, $1 per child or $10 per car load. A yearly sub of $35 = unlimited access. No dogs are permitted

β β β β β One of my kiwi friend recommended about Orton Bradley Part up to the tablelands, the waterfall and the lookout. Orton Bradley Park is a private 650 hectares rural property situated on the southern shores of Lyttelton Harbour. The hiking is done on Mt. Herbert which is the highest point of Banks Peninsula. It was hilly but the views were worth it and the walk down was much appreciated after doing the big slog up the hill. There are several track with different times and lengths. We chosen 3 hours which goes to waterfall. Honestly, it was amazing to pass through various type of tracks. I loved my 3 hours up the hill by myself walking around. There is a cafe in park which opens till 8pm. They provide quality beverages and meals. We had coffee after coming from hiking. It's a peaceful and Tranquil and a beautiful part in banks Peninsula. Only problem is there is no proper signs on tracking paths which creates a lot of confusion.

β β β β β Fabulous picnic and camping park. Huge open spaces, good amenities. Well maintained.
Good cafΓ©, surrounded by historical buildings. There's a lot of history attached to this park.
Great walks for all ages - around park area and also up into hills at rear of park for keen walkers and trampers.
Small entrance fee.

β β β β β Great place for family camping, lovely new clean toilets and showers. Nice big areas for kids to run around. Good playground too but not toddler friendly, more for older kids. The only issue we had was the kitchen. It was said on the website that it was a full kitchen which we assumed meant it had pots for campers to use but it had nothing. No pots, pans, utensils for cooking, nothing at all. Didn't realize we also had to bring our own dish washing liquid and even cloths to wipe down benches. It was also pouring down with rain when we arrived and so setting up in the rain was hard and we all got soaking wet. We asked the ranger if we could eat our dinner in this large hall that was attached to the kitchen that also had chairs and tables to which he said no because of covid - which didn't make sense as there was way less than 100 people at the campsite as it was terrible weather and many people didn't show up. Overall it was a good experience.

β β β β β A good place for picnic, good playground and lovely flower garden during spring. Don't forget to take cash for entry. Only gas barbecue is allowed. The walkway to the waterfall may not be open at all the times.

β β β β β Great scenery, beautiful spot with a lot of activity options. There's walks, a playground, camping spots at some times of year and a cafe. Around the cafe is some old machinery used on the farm back in the day. If you are interested, take the time to inspect the unassuming white shed close to the cafe with a water wheel on the side. It's got a bit of belt driven wood/metal working machinery in there.
Day trips:
$5 per person to get in ($10 max per vehicle). The walks are great, fairly well maintained tracks with a range of walking distances. 'Big rock' is a nice short one with a fantastic view. The mountain bike tracks aren't anything to write home about but they're worth taking your bike along if you're camping or wanting something fairly easy.
Camping:
Camping here is great. Fairly secluded away from the city while close enough for the odd shopping trip (or trip home if you live in Christchurch). There's good shade from the trees on hot days, and also shelter from the wind depending on where you camp. The facilities are pretty tidy. The toilets packed up once and they were pretty responsive about getting them fixed.
