β β β β β The doctors here are lovely, but the receptionists are a bit slack, they ignore incoming patients, eat behind the counter at the front desk and if your appointment gets messed up they aren't very helpful. Other than that the medical center is quite pleasant

β β β β β I have been a patient here for many years, always had fantastic care and advice from all doctors and reception staff I've seen. My only complaint is the young receptionists that must have been here since moving into the new building I haven't been in a while but the last 2 times they were extremely disinterested and barely gave eye contact. I Thought after the first time maybe she was having a bad day, but no the second visit confirms it. Maybe she needs a job that doesn't involve dealing with the public.

β β β β β After having just the most miserable experience at another practice, I came to Papanui medical in hopes of finding a better GP. And man did I!! Dr Lucy Henry is empathetic and just the best. My partner has had a few other of the GPs and always had a lovely experience. I love that booking appointments is easy, that all of your tests are online and you have easy access. Couldnβt recommend a better medical practice to those in search.

β β β β β I have used this practice for years but the inflation cost rise this year bit of a joke. They have put the Nurse rate up, this I can understand but what I don't understand is now you get charged for what treatment that they do as well. Good $50 just for not even 5 minutes.

β β β β β Absolutely abysmal. Have had numerous poor experiences, which includes poor technique with basic nursing practices, wasting my limited medication right in front of me, giving me false instructions and then forgetting about me for 40 minutes afterwards, asking me to come to appointments and then telling me the practicinor I had arranged to see was not actually there. A horrifying experience and unacceptable in a field as delicate as medicine. Prior issues were ignored and swept under the rug by management. Wouldn't send my worst enemy to Papanui Medical Centre for care.

β β β β β Been there for years. Unfortunately had an unhelpful telephonist who seemed to have no empathy towards patients needs. Felt all they wanted was $54 for another appointment when I had only been there last week. Communication between surgery and patient not great. A suggestion going forward to the surgery would be maybe put in place a diary system, to check on patients that need a quick 5 minute followup call to see how things are going.

β β β β β At a time when things are so hard for many, this medical practice continues to fail in the area of patient care. Often no one answers the phones and when they do, you likely need to then wait to talk to a nurse if you have any (at all) cold symptoms regardless of covid test results and by the time the nurse calls back you (with their later start times) you are unlikely to get an appointment. Itβs like trying to get into the after hours. Trying to make an appointment for young children is so difficult due to their fear of covid (even when your child/whole family does not have covid). Seeing sick people is part of being a doctor. The doctor we had an appointment with wanted to prescribe medication for our 1.7 year old without even seeing him. We had a check up today and the lady we saw (karen) was so rude, and unkind and inpatient with us and our 1.7 month old. We left not knowing what was wrong with him and a script for antibiotics without a reason for their provision. We understand all doctors are under pressure right now, but when your child is unwell for a long period of time, you should be able to see a doctor without being given the third degree on their policies and then the quickest (a literal 2 minute check over) check over of your child all because that doctor found it incredibly inconvenient you made an appointment to see her. We were rushed out the door and left feeling incredibly disregarded as parents. We love our normal doctor but can hardly get in to see him. So disgusted with this recent service. Pull it together papanui medical as this is just unacceptable.

β β β β β A thoroughly contemporary practice with some excellent clinicians. I have been a patient here for some years and appreciate the on-line access to results, appointments, repeat prescriptions and more. A real move to involve patients in their own care. GP and specialist nurse both really good
