★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A small car park by the road side but it wasn't busy. Nice and scenic path by the stream. There is a section of steps up a hill and down. The track is closed from then on due to protection against Kauri dieback.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don't believe the Auckland Council website, the track is closed. You can walk 700m in, and then there's a big fence. You can't reach the river. Not sure of the point of the short bit of track that is open.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hidden delight on the edge of River Head forest. Sander's reserve is a great place to go when you're there as well,
The estuary dives right in , or you can walk around the inner harbour coast line.
