Pembroke School is a small family-oriented school nestled under the majestic Taranaki Maunga in the heart of Taranaki. We pride ourselves in providing quality learning in a caring rural school environment focussed on ensuring that our students reach their full potential, show our ASPIRE values, and enjoy a great kiwi childhood. We work collaboratively across our school as well as in our Tuakana and Teina Learning Hubs. Our four Houses: Pukeko (Red), Tuatara (Green), Maui Dolphin (Blue), and Miromiro (Yellow) provide opportunities for us to collaborate, have friendly competitions, and have fun together on a weekly basis.
Each child also has a Tuakana-Teina buddy, these buddies meet weekly for Buddy Reading this not only helps us form across-school relationships, but it also encourages our engagement in literacy.
There are opportunities for students to be involved in leadership in areas of interest throughout the school, through becoming Sports, Library, or Enviro Leaders. We have a commitment to helping all Year 7-8s develop leadership skills and they also have an opportunity to apply to become House Leaders. We also have Head Boy or Head Girl who provide excellent role models to our younger students through exemplifying our ASPIRE values.
