About Percy Thomson Gallery
Euphorbia glauca is New Zealand’s only representative of the Euphorbia genus. There are many Euphorbia worldwide. Our native Euphorbia occurs naturally on the Taranaki coast between Opunake and Manaia and in plantings around New Plymouth and Waitara. It is quite rare in that it is not occurring anymore like it once did, suffering from grazing and land development. Its MΔori name waiΕ«atua, loosely translates as ‘milk of the gods’. This refers to the milky sap that exudes from the stems when they are cut or broken.

β β β β β An awesome gallery and gallery shop that supports local artists. The person that manages the gallery is very friendly and knows her stuff. I would highly recommend a stop visit and ship if you are in the Taranaki area.

β β β β β Loved it! A beautiful exhibition, small but well presented. Saw that they change the exhibitions every few weeks, so definitely worth a visit.

The shower head was a bit wonky and the water pressure was a bit low. The temperature was a bit erratic.
The windows would be good with stays on them so they can be left open.
The ultimate luxury would be air conditioning.
Management were friendly and made it easy to book in and be shown to our room on arrival.
