★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic cycle bridge (especially at night!) Access is from Lower Esplanade or Matariki Drive in Ngaruawahia or Horotiu Bridge at Horotiu end (no access via Amani Lane). Definitely an iconic bridge!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Five stars for a superb bridge and beautiful cycleway. One star for google maps which sent us to the wrong location to access the bridge, clearly we weren't the first people who had that problem as the council has put up a special sign there saying how to access the bridge.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice walk from from the Horoitu Bridge to the Cycle Bridge.
There is parking at the Horoitu Bridge and it's about 6km return walk. Once you've walked over the Horoitu Bridge, the track is easy to see.
It's a cycle track so be careful if Cyclists- they have a sense of entitlement and can be quite aggressive on tracks.
