★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A walk towards Eastbourne (left!) with the Sun at ones back takes a visitor over scores of crunchy shells. The local whaka ama club is also in this direction so you may catch sight of an outrigger or two. Playground is ideal for young families with under 7's.

Sat at table and had fish and chips brought from Fish Boys which by the way where cooked perfectly. Not greasy

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The designated western end is 'the place' for dog owners to take their dog to run around with other dogs. Or simply stroll along the esplanade and soak up our beautiful Harbour.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A good basic playground for children 3-10 years old. Soft mat areas but no fencing.
Nice and sunny with good carparking adjacent to park. A toilet block is nearby.
Access to beach also.
On some weekends the miniature railway is operational and children can have rides for a small fee.
The park features some original mosaic art which adds a distinct flavour.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's great! There are cafes nearby, the beach is tidy and popular. You want to keep an eye on the weather, but even if it turns, there is a good playground not too far away. There are apparently kids model trains sometimes at the Lions playground.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent playground. Grounds are kept tidy. Has a nice little food stall/caravan next to the playground and also a coffee shop.
Playground has a decent slide for the kids, and a fun miniature pretend stall/shop front for the kids to play in.
My 3 year old son loves this playground. It doesn't have a lot, but what it does have is really good fun for the kids.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The kids love this playground. Lots of options for games and activities with plenty of places to sit for a snack and a drink as well. Having the cafe kiosk and toilet block right there is equally important for kids and parents.
