β β β β β These are truly magical pies! They have performed some sort of sorcery when it comes to their gluten-free vegan pies as gf pastry is notoriously difficult to work with. However, these champs have mastered it to perfection, and, combined with three delicious vegan fillings (Mental Lentil, Thai coconut with turmeric, and Vegan Brekky), they are onto a winner. Since going gf I have been missing pies, but thanks to Carla and her crew, I can pie munch in heaven once more. Thank you for catering to me and my fellow gf vegans of Aotearoa. Please never close!

β β β β β Really disappointed with these highly rated pies. Service was great but the pies (I tried their pie of the day chicken curry and the braised steak) were a real let downβ¦ far superior in quality and quantity of filling is the basic northcross bakery and they are half the price.

β β β β β Pioneer Pies made us Delicious Steak and Guinness Pies for St Pattys Day and they were a great hit with our company! The order we placed had great communication and delivery service which made the order seamless. Definitely would use there company again :)

We ordered a selection of different flavoured pies during level 4. Mince and cheese are so nice. Boys rated them some of the best.
I tried a chicken mushroom & tarragon, so good, have to buy more. Has converted me from standard meat pie. Will definitely do special trip to stock up.
Thanks and awesome piemakers.
Ooh and not to forget Butter chicken was also a success.

β β β β β If you are a liver of great pies, this place is a must! Gluten free, Vegan, and so many other varieties and yes, they have huge chunky steak pies too.... Coffee, not bad but the pies, arguably the best in the Shore.

β β β β β Have gorged on the Braised Beef & Blue Vein, Angus Steak & Cheese and Chicken, Mushroom & Tarragon Sauceβ¦ I have yet to experience a bad pie on the 5+ trips Iβve made already.
The size of the pies are just right with a light flakey top (I try to stay away from any pie that has a thick flakey top, that's disaster material right there!). Their build quality is solid allowing you to pie with one hand, Coke with the other and without any issues of the pie opening at the other end (a big no-no for any "true" Pie Connoisseur).
First bites so far have yielded a 100% success rate, resulting in a satisfying amalgamation of delectable pastry, meat and gravy/sauce.
With Pioneer Pies being a 30 minute drive, theyβre quite the trek for simply getting a pie. Compared to your run of the mill bakery, these guys will fall on the pricier side, but Pioneer Pies aren't what I call a bakery, they're specialists in creating extremely delicious piesβ¦ usually evident in the first bite. For me, they're definitely worth the drive and price.
