While most retro clothing tends to be 50’s US influenced, we really like the classic Japanese aesthetic too. What could be more retro than a stylish kimono, a garment design that had its origins over a thousand years ago? In our Petone store we offer a carefully curated range of classic authentic Japanese Kimonos (a long robe) and Haori (kimono jackets) direct from Kyoto, Japan. Great place to buy gifts, especially for sci fi, comics, Star Wars or Doctor Who fans. Some great books to check out down the end - very different to what you find in a standard bookshop. Lovely staff too.

Planet retro has quite an eclectic mix of clothing homewares & nic nacks.
Would definitely recommend stopping in for a look if you are ever out that way.
