The person initially seemed very nice, being able to price match over the phone to their palmerston store.
When arrived, the tyre tech took of the tyres but it looked like he had damaged the inside of the wheel as could notice a few scratches. He seems to struggle trying to take off the old tyre and really struggle putting the new one on. Eventually after he did the first tyre (probably around 30mins after), he put the wheels back on and didn’t even bother tightening in a star pattern (around the clock pretty much). I went to go have a look at the wheel and could see some of the paint flaking off which i presume was him using the metal bar to mount the wheels on and off.
Second tyre was a bit better, no damage so far from what i have seen. maybe a slight nick but not sure if that was him or not.
When i brought it up to him initially, he said that it was already there an wasn’t his fault. i’m not sure how i could’ve damage the lip that connects to the tyres as it’s relatively hard to scratch there (as per photo). It looks like a mark from the metal bar. Eventually he said that it was because the tyres are very hard to mount, but this shouldn’t be acceptable at all… considering the fact that when i went to pay - he was boasting about how he has been doing this for 25 years.
Overall, decent prices but would just source from somewhere else and get the mounted at a decent tyre shop that doesn’t blame the customer nor the tyre for scratching up somewhat expensive wheels alongside getting angry at the customer for his wrong doings.
