★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Walked in with my mum holding two boxes of clean, tidy sorted goods to donate and we were greeted with a lady saying "oh, god." Then she came and looked at us and said, "I hope it isn't books, we don't want any books." you're a second hand store that runs entirely on reselling donated goods - not a great way to encourage local donations. Won't be coming back here again unfortunately :(

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm sorry you had a bad experience at our Op Shop Mallory Jane. I spoke to the woman who runs the Op Shop and she remembers the occasion. She said she was sorry, but the 'Oh God' was really to herself.
We really do appreciate the donations from the community but often a lot more comes in than goes out and the volunteers sometimes become overwhelmed. We have full storage cupboards and as you know, our shop is very full but we don't like refusing to accept donations because, as you say, we rely on the community for our goods. I believe you were not turned away that day but were able to leave your donations.
That was good of you to donate good quality things, we do receive a lot of rubbish but this is usually left at the door when we are closed. I hope you will return sometime and get a better reception, we don't like to upset the community.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First impressions- nice little shop! Packed with a Good range of clothing & other bits n bobs. Pricing is very good, like $10 n under!
They've also got a 'free' bin at the front of store & have a 'fill a bag' system on certain items. Staff & customer service was friendly too :) I enjoyed my little shop here & I'm definitely coming back when Ive got time, highly recommend checking this place out for sure if you stay in central Auckland ? bound to find some bargains!
