Pump Hire Ltd is a New Zealand-owned pump rental company that specialises in the hiring of diesel, electric, air and petrol-driven pumps.
About Pump Hire Ltd
Don Smith started Pump Hire in 1996, initially with a small range of submersible pumps and quickly expanded into high capacity diesel powered pump sets.
He has always maintained a ‘can-do’ service attitude with the company motto ‘Any Pump, Any Time, Any Where’.
The company has grown with increased resources, it has branches in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch; and quality people who share Don’s passion for the industry making sure company service standards are the ‘best around’.
Pump Hire provides more than just equipment hire, our experienced managers work with our customers from initial consultation (which can be a simple overview or a complete in-depth evaluation) through to installation of the pumps, and on some projects the management of the pumping systems.
Many projects require more than an ‘off-the-shelf’ solution, Pump Hire has the expertise to adapt the pump configuration to the customer’s requirements.
Reliability (service and pump performance) is often critical with our pumps frequently used for temporary diversion pumping in underground infrastructure maintenance programmes.
Project requirements will frequently change, sometimes due to design changes or unforeseen events. Pump Hire has the experience and resources to respond to these changes and provide working solutions and support to the customer, (frequently under pressure).
The ethos of the company (Any Pump, Any Where, Any Time’) is strongly ingrained.
Our Christchurch branch had over 48 pump sets working seven days a week (many on continuous 24hr work cycles) during the post-earthquake recovery. This operation required continuous service support with refuelling and machine maintenance.
Our Wellington branch has developed a loyal client base and is involved on some key infrastructure projects around the region.
Pump Hire has a range of ancillary items available for hire, these include mobile silt traps, fuel cells, power generation, settling tanks, road crossing (with dual pipeline protection), intake protection grids, mobile truck wheel wash and an extensive range of hose and pipeline.
Health and Safety
Pump Hire are a safety conscious employer and has JSA’s and JHA’s for all operations.
Pump Hire staff work on a number of high-hazard worksites (e.g.: mines, quarries and construction sites) where specific induction processes are a pre-requisite.
