Ranui Farm Park - Ranui Farm Park 785 Nicholls Road
Ranui Farm Park is a working sheep and beef farm located in Central Hawke's Bay, New Zealand, and only 17kms south of Waipukurau.
We are an adventure & mountain bike park that offers a variety of both relaxing and exhilarating activities for visitors of all ages, and abilities. Professional athletes, campers and leisure seekers visit the park to bike, run and walk our purpose-built mountain bike tracks through rolling hillsides and gentle bush tracks while taking in the country air.
Our popular Sunday Funday's are guaranteed to wear out even the most energetic of small people! (And their parents!) Families are invited to come and enjoy scenic walks across the farm! There is a large playground for the kids to enjoy including a sandpit, a 70-metre water slide, 80-metre flying fox, archery, paintball targets, and a golf-pitch or chip. Bring a picnic or try some goodies from our Cafe.
Ranui Farm Park is a great training ground for events being held in the Hawke's Bay or further afield or just to have a great day out in the sunshine with awesome views to behold. Ranui Ride Days are held every second Saturday and the last Sunday of each month Oct to May. Our annual events include: First Sunday Funday 2 Jan and 6 Feb 2022, Adventure Race - March/April date tbc, Ranui Revolution DH Race 22 Jan 2022, Carters Ranui Enduro 23 Jan 2022.
A popular choice for school camping groups, our activities and facilities are also well suited for other groups such as business team building events, clubs, Xmas or birthday parties and more.
We welcome everyone and look forward to showing you what makes Ranui Farm Park so special!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Warning: Do not bring younger children to this park. This “Farm park” is a total Cowboy operation. I brought my family here and we ended up bringing our little 2-year-old boy to the ER for a head injury. A flying fox is set up in a field next to a water slide with no barriers or warning signs what so ever. Our little boy wandered off into the line of fire and got struck in the head before we could grab him in time. The nearest hospital is almost an hour away.
Having a water slide and an unsupervised heavy duty flying fox within a short distance of each other with no barriers or warning signs is not a safe option for the public. The main walking path to get to the water slide goes up this small area (5 metres plus) between trees and the flying fox. Very Dangerous.
We had to elderly grandparents who were charged the full price just for sitting in the café and watching their grandchildren play. If you want to see farm animals, you need to pay 5 dollars each on top of the 10-dollar park fee. Shuttle rides are offered for an extra 10 dollars as well. You won’t see any farm animals if you don’t pay an extra fee for a farm tour.
Just in front of the café a mirage of chaos goes on with children throwing everything from cricket balls, bats, frisbees etc with no supervision. I almost got nailed in the head by a cricket ball while trying to put my bike helmet on.
I am a highly experienced mountain biker and found the trails to be substandard without much flow. Lots of loose rock/dirt and tall grass hitting your face. The intermediate trails were more like farm biking, not mountain biking. The trails were poorly signed and no maps were given.
There were random kids building jumps in dangerous areas out in the middle of nowhere with no supervision. Keep this in mind it’s a farm well away from any mountains. Hopefully they clean up their act after reading this post. This place does have some potential to be a fun safe place but it is not worth it as of now.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gorgeous little farm with plenty for the kids to do. Perhaps currently aimed at the older kids but my 17 month old loves riding the pony.
Beautiful morning out for the family.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went to the Sunday Funday and we had such a great time, the kids enjoyed themselves so much. There was so much to do: horse riding, water slide, mountain biking, playground, cafe, showers, archery, paint ball, golf, flying fox. The staff were super friendly, knowledgable and patient. Great value for money!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great park. Attended a XC event that was well organised and extremely friendly. There were a good variety of trails that were well built. Definitely worth a day trip, and I will certainly be going back!
