★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Riverside Horticulture is a family business based in Rangiora, North Canterbury. It was one of the first nurseries in New Zealand, being established in 1855. The original company, Ivory Nurseries was set up by Mr William Ivory who arrived in Canterbury on the immigrant ship the Cashmere in 1855. The business has remained with family ownership and today, Andrew Dartnall, a descendant of Mr Ivory and a seventh generation horticulturist operates the nursery.
