★ ★ ★ ★ ★ AVOID! We had a very interesting experience on New Year’s Day. The place was not as crowded even though it was the only place open for business on this day in kerikeri. However, the front of house/bar lady managed to be a bit grumpy taking our coffee order. After not being so nice to us she put aside our order and didn’t tell anyone to make it. It took 10 minutes for her to realize that we were standing in front of them waiting and then she finally told someone to make it. The coffee only took about 2minutes to make which I believe they could’ve done a lil earlier. As I was already upset with the situation I tried the coffee before writing this. Can only say it wasn’t as good as the waiting time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worst customer service and even worse food! The owner yelled at her staff in front everyone she’s lucky to even have staff! Rude to the customers. All their meat gets boiled and just covered in disgusting sauces. Our drinks came out as we were ready to leave. Very very bad experience

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Completely trash bar. Pretty rude staff. And EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. Charging $15 for a pint of beer and $31 for a basic piece of chicken. Will never visit again. Cheers

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My partner and I decided to go to Rocksalt for dinner. Highly disappointed, my meal,which was chicken & bacon fettuccine was so cheesy, fettuccine needed Abit more cooking. All u can taste is cheese, My partners steak was so rare it was bleeding. I complained and all the waiter said to me was next time go eat somewhere else. How bloody rude,

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you like consistently sticky tables, screaming kids, no table service, blasé waiting staff and want to ask yourself “When are hey going to take our order?” - this place is for you! Redeeming features: Good stone-grill, steaks and garlic bread. I would advise against coming here if you’re looking for a conventional nice dinner out. Go to The Plough & Feather for a proper dining experience. You sit down and they come to you! It’s crazy. Cheers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Always enjoy the food here but tonight was probably the best we’ve had. Celebrated a birthday, didn’t book in advance but found us a table for 6 with no problem. Ordered enough food to feed 8 and everything was cooked perfectly! Didn’t even wait long for our food which we expected it to as we ordered a lot and was busy. Best place to eat in town! Thanks guys!
