Oil canning is defined as a perceived waviness across the flat area of ( in particular, but not limited to) wider metal panels. It is a naturally-occurring phenomenon and can be more discernible under shallow cross lighting, variation in light source, temperature, and thermal changes. Oil canning is an aesthetic issue and not a structural problem or defect. The property owner, builder, specifier should be aware that these undulations do not affect performance. The inclusion of swaging systems may also assist in reducing surface waviness.

β β β β β Roofing Industries Central supplied us with this fantastic True Oak roofing iron with the matching clear lights for this roof we did in the out back of the mighty Waikato, nothing was a problem from getting the roofing in the colour we wanted, getting the lengths we wanted and getting it all to site on time and of course on budget. The True Oak profile is great to work with and looks fabulous from the ground and on the roof!
The flashings were made and delivered with care and the truck drivers did a great job getting the trucks up the steep driveway with the roofing and accessories, because of the location of this job and it was great knowing that Roofing Industries has locations nation wide and trucks driving up and down the county side along with the professionalism of the office staff, factory workers, sales staff and truck drivers we knew that if there was an issue the team at Roofing Industries would be able to have it sorted with out huge delays to this small but exciting building project.
