β β β β β Upon arrival, Chris the shop owner was sitting out the front and greeted us warmly. I was so glad to see that boutique stores have survived COVID related international tourism decline.
The store looked well stocked with treasures to discover and he had a 20% off sale starting that day. Chris didn't mind if I took some photographs of his stock to send to friends and post online as immediately I saw items that would be appealing to friends. As time was limited, I told him what I was interested in finding and he took me straight to what he had. He had a rare Atlas china figurine I've only seen online, it was in perfect condition and I couldn't believe my luck.
Understandably Chris doesn't post internationally. I suppose that the fragile nature of the items prohibits postage without the risk of loss.
I will definitely visit again when in NZ next time hoping to have as much good luck at finding another rare and special find at Rotorua Antiques and Collectables. I'm thinking that perhaps I should have kept this gem of a store to myself.

β β β β β Stumbled across this gem of a shop and so glad we did! A vast treasure house of history, distilled in an amazing variety of items. The glass and crystal ware of particular note and Chris conveyed his genuine love of the genre, sharing the stories of many pieces with us unselfishly.

β β β β β One of the best Antique & Collectable stores I have been in, in a long time. Immaculately presented, with wonderful artefacts. Owner clearly has discerning taste, and was a lovely man to deal with. I will absolutely be recommending his store to others.

β β β β β If you're looking for a wee gem or two then Rotorua Antiques and Collectables is the place for you. Chris will warmly invite you to look over all his treasures that there is to offer. From crystal ware, clocks, vases, pottery and a fabulous range of Crown Lynn, you will not be disappointed. Take a look for yourself!

β β β β β Beautifully presented store with an impressive array of antique and collectable treasures.
Chris the owner was a very helpful and genuinely friendly βpeople personβ.
Was interested in what I was collecting and not just looking for a sale (I did purchase two lovely vases which I am very happy with).
Will definitely visit again next time Iβm in Rotorua.
I have visited a lot of antique stores throughout NZ over a 30 year period and this would easily be in the top 3.
The only downside would be me not being a millionaire so I could buy half the store!

β β β β β I visited Rotorua Antiques & Collectibles for my 1st ye today after moving to Rotorua 6 months ago. Friends have raved about the wonderful collection Chris has & I want disappointed I walked away with a gorgeous antique pocket size bible with a mother of pearl cover - a perfect gift for a friend who is being installed as the Dean of a Cathedral not far from here - cant wait to go back to this fantastic shop!!!

β β β β β We travelled to Rotorua Antiques & Collectables to collect an item that they had posted on Instagram. It will now become a destination store for us. We will make a special trip, drive 4-5 hours and stay overnight to visit again. Chris has so many things that are just not seen any more in Antique stores. Wonderful glass and china and so much more. He is friendly, knowledgeable and patient. Then we left the store and had a quick chat with the Mayor outside the shop - only in New Zealand :).

β β β β β Whilst visiting Rotorua, stopped in at this shop to have a browse. Found an old camera that caught my eye amongst all the other cool antiques, and Chris was very happy for me to have a look at it. I ended up buying it a couple of weeks later and I have to say, the communication and prompt delivery was great. Thanks again, Chris!
