β β β β β An assiduously restored and maintained cob cottage handy to town with a bed as comfortable as our own. Spotlessly clean, managed by a discreet couple who are a goldmine of local info but only if asked and who will deliver breakfast whenever suits. Cleverly secluded property so that all you hear at night is the river... VERY highly recommended.

β β β β β What a beautiful, peaceful place. Not far from Roxborough, but just far enough to be simple and peaceful. Our hosts were marvelous, the place was spotless, we were constantly in awe of something new about this beautiful place. Breakfast was brought out for us, and what wasn't to love? Would 100% stay again.

β β β β β We had a really negative experience staying here (Dalton's Deed) 1 night out of 2 that we paid for. There was a small party across the road with loud music and bass from 7pm until 12.30am. We notified the owner at 10pm who didn't take enough action to stop it and even the next morning did not reassure us it would not happen again (he should have known to call the noise complaint council officer). We left the next morning for fear of the noise again and requested a refund. The owner said twice he would follow up by calling some of the other neighbours and then make a decision, but he never got back to us after 2 days and did not answer our phone calls or text.
He also had no explanation for the obvious renovations that were taking place in the bathroom and the many painted over windows that would not open, yet not disclosed on the listing. There was a washing machine and bicycles available also listed on the booking.com info yet none actually available. We found this to be unfair as we needed both and had thought we were paying for them too.

β β β β β A beautifully renovated and sensitively modernised colonial cottage in a lovely quiet rural setting. The 1886 built cottage is your double bedroom and living room, a small modern attached extension adds bathroom and coffee making facilities. A nearby separate building has a full kitchen, deck and barbeque for guest use.
I used as a base to explore the nearby Roxburgh Gorge and Clutha Gold cycle trails. Every ride was fueled by a lovely breakfast (I had muesli, fruit, toast and muffins). If the night skies are clear the star gazing is impressive. If in the area again I will return!
PS: If you need a rental bike, or cycle accessories, the local pharmacy has them!

The hosts were really nice people who just wanted you to enjoy the area.
