★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wild and windy. Hot and calm regardless the views are worth the visit. See Mt Aoraki on a clear day. Swimming not advised.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice quite beach... small pebbles and less sandy... and easily accessible for all ages of people. Some people bring their beloved SUVs also sometimes however that is not something I will endorse.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We parked here one evening to take a quick walk on the beach. Love the benches, but would have liked some shade. NZ has the highest rate of skin cancer, but there is never any shaded places to sit. The play area looked great for kids. Watch out for Sandflies.
