I picked up a tie from their $6 hanger, when I handed it over to pay the women told me no this tie is a nice one and will cost me $12! I was taken aback. Her response was do I want it or not? $12. In addition, to paying double, the bit of sewing trim in a small bag I also purchased for $4 turned out to be off something and damaged, so mostly unusable. The list goes on.. I paid $10 for a needle felting tool, sold as new, which turned out to have broken needles. Also, a $4 chalk tracing wheel from their 'haberdashery' that doesn't work. For a 'boutique' op shop they should not cheat their customers for 'charity'. I have however bought some nice, if pricey, fabric and wool.

A treasure trove of curios and vintage items. Look out for the rack of fur coats at very reasonable prices. Fabrics remnants a bit pricey. Experience the joy of hunting for the unusual, whimsical or pretty.

Went to Shop on Carroll today in search of some buttons to add a bit of colour to a pretty boring winter jacket I owned. Little did I know, upon entering the store, my whole button shopping experience was about to be upgraded to that next level by the Shop on Carroll 'Button-Lady', who (my lucky day) just happened to be working. 15 minutes later, I had a bag of gorgeous, funky, eclectic and totally mismatched buttons, courtesy of one very helpful, efficient and aptly named 'Button-Lady.' Thank you for your help! The experience made my day.

I loved Shop on Carroll, hands down, the best op shop I've ever been to. What a lovely atmosphere, beautiful, quirky, colorful displays, like looking through someone's treasures, rather than an opshop. I'm going to have to go back.

I bought online from Shop On Carroll and was delighted with both my purchase and their service. This online charity shop really does stock some lovely quality items. The lightweight jacket I purchased was brand new and works so well with my wardrobe. Will certainly buy from them again.

Fantastic wide variety of pre loved clothing and home goods for sale. There is much crammed in as stylishly as possible, but do look above & below eye level as you will find even more reasonably priced treasures. I was intrigued to find vintage knitting patterns that are well over 60yrs old. I still regularly knit from my mother's collection but I found one that I didn't have. Score! If you want buttons & haberdashery just look in the drawers. I regretted not buying a garment when I was in Dunedin and phoned up three days later to see if they still had it. After payment the garment arrived two days later. Fabulous service and the staff were totally helpful.

Button-lady wanted to overcharge for some bulk buttons. Overpriced for a charity shop, sorry, your values dont coincide with what my idea of a charity shop is.

A favourite opshop in Dunedin. Love the curated pieces. Prices are usually pretty reasonable (3/5 times I find something). Staff are very friendly.
