I contacted the owner of this business to give me a quote for some spares, after an extremely tardy txt with prices a day later I phoned to inquire as to the availability of said spares. I was informed I would have to leave a deposit and they would be ordered in. I responded that I could get them ordered in online myself and was abruptly told that I had wasted enough of his time and the phone was put down on me. I accept that the customer is not always right and that this may be a frustration for some business owners. It is however a non-negotiable that anybody running a business should be courteous and polite to a customer. I found this person to be rude and obnoxious and can not recommend this business.

I have just had a 140 hp Suzuki fitted by Silverdale Marine. I am extremely happy with the service I received and the quality of workmanship on the install, replacing wiring etc as needed. I highly recommend them

Called for a simple impeller and was made to feel like an idiot for not having the serial number, I did however have date of manufacture, hp rating and cylinder count but that wasn't enough, the guy laughed at me like it was joke.

Been waiting for a reply back which i sent via email, not heard a thing, its been days now. To me it was very important, but to these people it probably means nothing. they've lost my business as its the little things that count and just the respect to reply back.

I bought a Smartwave 4200 in May 2018. My boat porpoised on the plane , the porpoising got worse the longer I ran at speed so after not very long I'd have to throttle back off the plane to regain control. The motor made a huge rooster-tail when cutting through the water. I was told by everyone this was not normal. Silverdale Marine told me it was normal and I didn't know what I was talking about. I paid a more local marine professional to come with me and support my position that the boat was not fit for purpose. On that back of that, my hull was replaced in Oct 2018. The new boat was great. Due to the 74km between my house and SM, plus my experience of being treated like an ignorant novice I chose to have my engine serviced more locally, still by an affiliated Tohatsu Mechanic. On the 3rd annual service (after the run in service), 3.5 years after buying the boat (officially motor has only 3 year warranty), the more local mechanic said there seems to be a strange rattle from the motor (which I knew but thought it was normal). Mechanic found that there was a small amount of play in the cam pulley between the metal centre hub and the outer plastic wheel. I talked to Tohatsu who said take it to SM. Tohatsu also gave me the name of another prolific sales location to ask about the fault. I sent this other place a video and they said this wasn't normal and warranted further investigation. Booked it in at SM and sent them the video. I don't think they bothered to view it. With the information from the other dealer I requested that they have a replacement part on hand to replace. They weren't prepared to have the part on hand and said they couldn't diagnose the fault without seeing it (ignoring the video). Due to the distance between my house and them I asked whether I could take the boat home the same day I brought it in. Even though I was prepared to wait around for the day they said that I wouldn't be able to take it home, so not sympathetic to the 1 hours each way trip to bring it in. Bearing in mind my previous experience over having the hull replaced I was reasonably convinced they'd just send me away and say it was normal even when they know it isn't. So I would have to go back again! Altogether poor customer service culminating in them saying "you are not our customer" because the motor was out of warranty and I hadn't brought it to them for servicing. I thought that was a pretty poor. I've cancelled that investigation and will sort out the issue elsewhere. They're not worth the time. I can't trust Silverdale Marine to resolve the issue in an honest and reasonable manner without fighting for the result.

Got what I asked for. The person at the shop helped me lift the boat on to my ute. The only reason I have only given 4 stars is because the shop doesn't stock life jackets. Otherwise I would give 5 stars. All good.
