★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great spot to be if you want to see Queenstown from a height. It is a route for mountain biking. If you go further, you will reach Coronet Peak ski area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I took the shotover jet and the route to it goes through this road and its simply an amazing experience with breath taking views! If you're just going for a drive, better take a 4x4 vehicle. The shotver jet was also a great experience. If you're thinking of doing a jet ski ride, then go for the shotover jet instead of the other commercial jet skis. It will take around 2-3 hours for the whole thing as they'll take you up on this road which will not be the case for the other commercial skis. The cost is just a few dollars more than the commercial ones but trust me, every dollar is worth for this ride and jet ski!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Slippers Road was my favorite drive in all of NZ! Make sure you have a 4WD and aren’t afraid of heights! Steep drop offs and tight one lane dirt road but the views are worth it. We came at sunset as we just happened to stumble upon this jewel so be sure to come a little earlier in the day and drive all the way to the end!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow! Incredible place! So, Jenny, our 4-wheel driver/ guide for Safari of the Rings excursion took us here for the last stop! Beautiful! It took the gold miners 5 days to walk into this location where gold was first discovered! This was an exciting adventure! Hold on for the ride down into the river! Yes, into the river, but you'll have tons of fun! Tell Jenny hello!
