Last Sunday morning at 5, 20 am I had the worst asthma attack of my life. I could not get any air at all into my lungs. When you consider that breathing is fairly critical to living you may understand how scary it is when you can't breathe. After following the usual medication protocols I have in place for this type of emergency I woke my husband & he monitored me for roughly an hour. When no improvement was reached he called the ambulance. The paramedics came & by then my face was purple & I was literally gasping for air. My BP was 240/130 & I thought I was going to die or have a stroke. I have never been so frightened in my entire life. Matt & his lovely lady para ( can't recall her name) in the crisis were fantastic to me. I was a Code 2 so I guess that might be considered pretty serious? Due to the risk of me contracting Covid on an already compromised respiratory system it was decided to treat me at home in this instance for which I'm also extremely grateful to the paramedics. Nothing would be worse for me than contracting Covid on top of a seasonal cold & respiratory infection. I'M now recovering well with the usual medial intervention & a triage trip to my GP practice the next day.
