★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Posting on behalf of my mother. She got her car serviced and warranted here ( which they did a perfectly good job of). Upon receiving it back she noticed that the engine light was on. When she enquired about this she was informed that it had happened because the it was not reset after the service, but they could fix it for her for (I think) $200. Or she could leave it on. Why should she pay for their mistake?
My mother just wanted to let this go and didn’t want anyone to follow up. But people need to know or this kind of behaviour will continue.
I would not recommend St Martins garage to anyone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice blokes but starting to feel like a walking dollar sign here. They charged me $100+ dollars to tell me to go to another garage, which fixed the car for $150. Having sent a few $$$$ their way over the last couple of years, that's not great.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I don't like leaving negative reviews and really hesitated to leave one here as I like to promote small business, not put them down but...
These guys failed me on a WOF on dodgy brakes and tires. The mechanic who did the WOF was very charming and when I asked about the brake fail, he responded with "well it could be worse!". Tires - fair enough, mismatched tread, but when I got them to repair the brakes the other mechanic said he couldn't find anything wrong with them. Gave them a good look over, changed the fluid, used an hour's labour. I never had any problems with the brakes prior to the WOF and subsequent repair/check. Since then the brakes are spitting and hissing and I won't be going back there to get them to fix them. They were also rough with my bonnet and now it doesn't lift properly on the cable catch. Can't recommend, sorry guys.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent service! The guys here are so friendly and genuine! I recently moved here from the US and it is sooo nice to have found a trustworthy place to take in my car and not be afraid as a female to go in by myself. They always get the job done and I’ve never felt like they were trying to upsell me or rip me off in anyway. Every time I’ve taken a car in I’ve pretty much expected the outcome they were going to tell me. They always make sure to call and let you know what they are doing and informed me of the price of new tires that I needed so that I was fully aware of the costs when picking up my vehicle. Would recommend and will continue going back myself!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ St Martin’s garage performed a WOF on my car and wrote a false report that my tyres and suspension had failed. I complained and asked them for a refund. Despite claiming their service is guaranteed, they ignored my email. I submitted a complaint to the NZTA about them which was upheld. Who needs this kind of dishonesty & hassle in life when we all have enough already? I’d recommend MotorWorks. They offer a quality, honest service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They work very hard and do have lots to do. It seems there could be one or even two more mechanics and they'd have enough work. Nonetheless they gave me always an appointment within few days.
It's best to call them or just show up personally because they do not really answer emails at all. I don't know why they still have links with email on the internet.
Otherwise conversation with this garage is very good (if in person ;)) Very friendly AND honest. If you ask for a quote they'll actually do the job for (or at least very close to) the quoted amount.
Last time I had my car there I had to use a loan car and did not pay a cent for that service expect the fuel I used. Hope it's okay that I mention this here ??
It is to say that it was a quite cost intensive repair, mostly because of the parts but for what they did I couldn't find another place which is as professional and would do it for that price. I don't feel overcharged and rather give my money to those guys than to a multimillionaire, global player company ?
Highly recommend that place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I changed to St Martins Garage after another local garage gave my trailer a WOF when it did not deserve one and it had an accident. I checked out the reviews and rang and spoke to them. They came across and honest and reliable so I took our work van in for a WOF and service. I was really happy with the result and the price and therefore I will return with the rest of the work vehicles and highly recommend the team at St Martins Garage!
