Surfsup New Zealand is an eco-friendly and sustainable tour operator and online retail shop based in Whangamata, New Zealand.
Since 2015 we have been offering exceptional kayak tours, equipment hires and surf lessons with the popular Whenuakura – Donut – Island as a must do in the Coromandel.
In 2022 we have decided to expand our online retail shop experience, with sustainable and health orientated products. Some of our highlight products are our Bio-degradable Tail Pads, recycled leashes & wax combs and fitness clothing made with Emana Fibber.

The guides with us were very patient to tell us everything in detail. Initially we were struggling to get with the group. Then they helped us to tow us till we reach with the group. Thank you so much guys for a memorable experience.

It was an amazing experience for the whole family, even though for beginers as my 7 and 10 years old kids who have had lots of fun. Our guides Mauro and Francois were the best, very kind, helpful, and have shown professionalism informing us about the tour, safety guidelines and about the island, the Maori culture, etc...
It was one of the best birthdays my wife has had ever!!!
I highly recommend this company.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went kayaking to doughnut island with my daughter today. Kayaking is not my kinda thing and did this only for her.Booked tour guide through surfs up. I was very worried as my daughter is 11 and it was our first kayaking together. The guys were beyond amazing with the help and tips they provided. The kayaks were in very good condition lessons given were very helpful. We strayed many times and they came back to get us. Thank you guys, you made the day very memorable for us both.
I would highly recommend surfsup for any kayaking tours for the beginners.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Look this is a great place to come. Book early - don’t try and call or rock up on the day with a party and expect 2-3 kayaks... people were nice. For the price you get safety gear and instruction with the kayak and a wet bag. They gave us a call when we were nearby there to remind us we had a booking. You need to pay a deposit when you book. Kayaks were fine but ours did not have the seat back, some straps were broken but the kayak itself was sound. Would be happy to book again through these guys for the price.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely loved our Donut (Whenuakura) Island tour! The guides were really nice, had so much knowledge and were really funny. We had a great time exploring the islands. You kayak inside Donut Island and it's just breathtakingly beautiful. Clear bright blue water! Was easy enough kayaking out that far and had a little stop in along the way on one of the islands and had a cup of kawakawa tea all together and had a little education session before heading back to shore! You get given a dry-bag for your cameras, a lifejacket of course and a wetsuit if you choose to. Wear a hat and lots of sunblock!
