★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the first things Syd asked my colleague and I is if we were married; whether because this is a part of his role as a celebrant or out of typical amatonormativity, I don't know, but it put us off. I suspect we caught him on an bad day.
We felt a lot like we were invading his home, and furthermore that he wasn't aware we were invading his home. I'm not sure if he existed prior to our visit, or if he manifested in the minutes before we knocked on his front door.
To his credit, he listened to our request and completed the assigned task a mere hour after we called to see if he was available. His effort was slow, but diligent, and we were able to clearly see his work on the process from start to finish.
Based on his request for quiet at the time, he is not an individual for discussion related to your circumstance, so keep any small talk firmly away from the matter you're there for and try to make generic social noises instead.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Extremely rude. Me and my friend got our passport updated and need a certified copy for Student Visa. Seems like we are invading his space/office as there is no welcoming. Moving on, he questioned about our Student Visa documents “authenticity” as he required our parents to sign the signature in front of him. We already explained that these documents were sent to our parents OVERSEAS (as they do not live in New Zealand) to sign. This is the only way we could’ve done (Border restrictions,… and other International Students would do exactly the same). He said we are pushing the rules??? ??? After that, He throw the passport to the table.Would not recommended this JP service to anyone as it was just rude, unwelcoming with a grumpy, uncomfortable atmosphere
