About Taiping Asian Supermarket

In the 1980’s, Peter and Lois Chan could see the potential growth of the Asian Auckland Community, from there Tai Ping Trading Co. Ltd was formed to service the community with Asian groceries.

With the deregulation of importation licenses and a new wave of immigration, in 1989 renewed opportunity appeared.

When the business grew, the shop and company office was relocated to 117 Beach Road, subsequently to 105 Beach Road.

This was Tai Ping’s first fully fledged Asian supermarket and remains there til this day.

In the 1990’s Peter Chan was join by his two sons, Wayne and Michael. Together they grew Tai Ping Trading to include successful wholesale and importation company of a diverse range of Asian food and grocery products along with the establishment of several more Tai Ping retail supermarkets.

Today, with the same family ethics and further including the next generation of the Chan clan the Tai Ping business continues to grow with its strong import network and chain of retail supermarkets located throughout Auckland.

Great supermarket with a wide array and variations of veg, meat and items. It’s a great place to find Chinese ingredients for cooking.

Great supermarket! All vegetables and fruits are fresh and a store is tidy. Can grab all I need for my family.

A Chinese Supermarket with a range of products including fruits, meats, processed goods and even home utentils. They also sell Korean and Japanese goods in the asiles towards the end. Noticiably you can get traditional chinese roast meats for around $15 to $30 here. Parking is a breeze but with only 3 tills, lines tend to get very long.

Good range of fruits, vegetables and the prices of fruits are affordable. Also a good place to shop for asian foods and pickles. They had complementary 60ml bottles of hand sanitizers.

A hell of a lot better shop than New Lymn although I noticed some product were cheaper and some were a lot more expensive, as I said before shop around people your wallet will thank you

To say the staff were apathetic and disinterested in simply pointing me towards some Lemongrass would be an understatement. Poor shopping experience. Don't bother asking anyone who works there, they don't care

Good selection of items. Nearly all Asian items can be found here. No need to go to market as prices are nearly same. The shop is bit congested with people bumping each other on busy times. Try to get a small trolly so that you can move around the shop easily. Parking is available around the place.

As I noticed, they are better maintained and arranged compared to the Mt Wellington supermarket of the same brand which is a plus. They do operate a bakery, butcher, sea food, grocery items (Chinese), fruits and veggies. They are a Chinese supermarket, that you will notice in no time. The first half of it which comes with fruits and veggies, is mostly the common department that I found worth shopping. When u get to the shelves it is all Chinese product on those that was my observation on my visit on 19/Mar/2022. The lady at the bakery in the evening was nice and pleasent. She offered a good customer service. As usual, my experience with Chinese shops is not that satisfied in regards to customer service. Other than her, that statement stayed again the same.
