★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great site to spend a few nights. A little noisy by the road but nothing earplugs won't fix. The council is kind enough to let you pitch a tent too. Just be a tidy kiwi/visitor so we can continue to have this amazing privilege. Toilets are provided too. Thanks Opotiki Council ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful grassy area. Lovely other campers to chat to. Restful water and tree views. Nice walk up estuary to beach front. The occasional truck raveling past around 5am. But not a bother to us.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A roadside and estuary side free camp. We spent 3 nights there in very warm weather. We swam, walked, and were mildly sucessful at fishing. The reserve had toilets which we didnt use.The area tended to full up near the evening. Most stayed in the sign posted area but not all. Very nice spot
