β β β β β I have had my daughter here for almost 4 years now and her progress in all areas is amazing to see. It is always mentioned by others how intelligent and confident she is and that has a lot to do with the structured learning, support and encouragement of the kaimahi/teachers. The kohanga is managed at a high standard which is clear to see by the quality of the monthly meeting reports and also reflected in annual audit and 3 yearly ERO reports. I appreciate that whanau participation and input is of utmost importance when it comes to decision making and planning for the future of the kohanga and the children as it makes me feel more a part of my child's learning and care when I'm not around. I'm so glad to have experienced this kohanga and all that it has to offer.

β β β β β This is an absolutely amazing kohanga. We couldn't be happier with the care and effort the Kaiako put into our son the 4 years he went here. They are all so welcoming and really helped us as we only knew the basics in Te Reo Maori. They made us feel comfortable and more confident by learning with them. I would very highly recommend them.

β β β β β Best Kohanga whanau Iβve ever experienced. Kaiako strive high to maintain our Reo me ona tikanga Maori with well thought out structured programmes that are capability oriented as well as nature aligned. Our kaiako are always looking for upskill options for themselves so they can be the best βthemβ for the tamariki. The Kohanga itself is very well organised thanks to our awesome admin wahine who works hard to support the whanau led vision that is unique to Kohanga in itself. Iβm trying to move back to the Hutt just so I can take my babies back there!

β β β β β The Kaimahi at Te Awa Kairangi done at amazing job of teaching all three of my children tikanga and te reo maori.
My youngest son has now just gone off to total immersion primary school.
I highly recommend Te Awa Kairangi to anyone looking to send their tamariki to Kohanga Reo.
Not only because of the values, education and amazing relationships that are built in the classroom, but also the amazing management of Katrina.
This kohanga is extremely transparent and organized in all aspects of running a Kohanga.
From licences, financing, building compliance, to christmas parties and outings and everything in between, Katrina and the team at Te Awa Kairangi Kohanga Reo is exceptional!

β β β β β It has been nearly a year now since my son and I had our first experience with Te Awakairangi and I am finally writing this review. Starting with the positives. Te Awakairangi was easy to contact, process of sign up was easy, I was given all the necessary information about the Kohanga, staff seem very friendly, the facility is well organised and I had a good meeting with the centre manager before my son's settling days.
However, we did not have a good first day settling my child into Te Awakairangi.
I was informed by one of their own staff that Te Awakairangi was not a safe and reliable place to be for my son. The staff member told me about child abuse events that had occurred and mistreating of staff. The staff member wanted to warn me because she felt that I was genuine and happy about my son starting Kohanga Reo (which I was). This brought me to tears and I decided immediately to inform the Ministry of Education and withdraw my son. The Ministry of Education performed an investigation and nothing came from this, which is reassuring.
What an unfortunate experience, it has now made me more vigilant about who cares for my son and which child care facilities I feel are trustworthy. I encourage anyone who decides to sign up with any child care centre and Kohanga Reo to please be very cautious, do your research, get recommendations from parents and make sure you know your tamariki are safe.
