About Te Kura-a-Iwi O Whakatupuranga Rua Mano

Te Kura-ā-Iwi o Whakatupuranga Rua Mano is a tribal Kura that is dedicated to delivering all curriculum areas in te reo Māori (with the exception of English) and in accordance with the tikanga (customs) and mātauranga (knowledge) of the resident iwi.
As a Kura-ā-Iwi we determine our pathways and those of our tamariki as Māori, we reaffirm their uniqueness, and nurture them in an environment that is Iiwi responsive, and whose mauri is Māori. We aim to provide education for all tamariki of the ART Iwi and others who wish to avail themselves of our option.
Te Kura-ā-Iwi o Whakatupuranga Rua Mano hosts a satellite Kura based in Fielding - Te Kura-ā-Iwi o Ngāti Kauwhata (Kauwhata). Kauwhata students are officially enrolled at Whakatupuranga Rua Mano but educated at the satellite school base in Cheltenhem, Fielding. As the host Kura, Whakatupuranga Rua Mano is charged with staffing and operating Kauwhata. The intention of Kauwhata whānau is for the Kauwhata Kura to become a standalone Kura-ā-Iwi in the near future.
