β β β β β Te Uru is a wonderful contemporary art gallery. Highest recommendation. This is the place to come to in order to experience exciting new art.
The building is a brilliant example of Judy Stout and David Mitchell's architecture. Here's some close up photos of the architecture's careful detailing.

β β β β β I loved this place so much. Itβs got so many surprises to discover on the 4 levels. An amazing insight into our NZ history in one gallery too. It was such a breathtaking experience. My fave piece was this teapot & the explanation of its creation

There is even a rooftop terrace to take beautiful, scenic photos and take a moment to admire the nature around you.

β β β β β What a superb building- a gem in the bush. Iβve not been to Titirangi Village before and I was more than impressed with this Art Gallery. Something to be proud of and a real find. Pieces for sale in the gallery shop were impressive and something to consider if you are looking for that special gift. Weβll worth the visit.

β β β β β Te Uru WaitΔkere Contemporary Gallery is an absolute gem! This is the place to come to if you want to experience new and contemporary art. They change their exhibits and installations often, to make every visit fresh and interesting.
Your personal taste will inform the visit. Some contemporary installation are brilliantly inspired and inspiring, and showcases local New Zealand history and artists. Although I could appreciate the passion and effort that went into creating those works of art, I just didn't "get" some of the pieces.
The building itself is an architectural marvel. It also offers beautiful outside views, displaying the wooded areas and the harbour as art itself.
Well worth a visit!
