Absolutely beautiful! Great location, stunning views and the house is absolutely beautiful. David and Sophia are lovely hosts who are extremely welcoming. David had even stocked the fridge with supplies we might need before we got there. Will definitely be back!

A beautiful historic house with views over Nelson bay with wonderful hosts David and Sofia. Extra touches such as fresh flowers, fruit and chocolate makes this feel like a boutique hotel. David and Sofia are both respectful of your privacy and generous with their time should you want to know what there is to do in Nelson. There are also bikes! and David was kind enough to accompany me on a 56km ride out to Rabbit island and back.

Beautiful Victorian house with picture perfect views of the bay! David and Sophia were both so welcoming and very accessible. We borrowed two of David’s bikes for the day to cycle some of the great taste trial and they were excellent as well. Would highly recommend.

Te Whare Rangi is an absolute gem - the view is simply beautiful! David has thought of literally everything a guest could possibly want during their stay, right down to a lovely vase of fresh flowers, and the comfiest, softest bathrobes that have ever existed. Couldn't recommend a better place or host!

Incomparable beautiful house, full relaxation and rest, we spent a wonderful 3 days here. David is the owner of the house. He not only inherits the elegance of the house, but also introduces era technology to the house, and endows the house with character. It's easy to communicate with David and it's full of happiness. At the same time, I would like to thank Sophia for her patient guidance and thoughtful help. I hope I can come back here.

David's house was absolutely delightful. We spent our evenings relaxing and reading in the hammock on the verandah. David and Sophia were fantastic hosts, very approachable and friendly. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay whilst exploring Nelson!

The stay at Puna Perch was just as described in the previous reviews online. Wow! was an exclamation so many times, when we first arrived at David's stately historic house. The views are nothing short of spectacular, nearly everywhere you look (even the bathroom has fabulous views!). The windows afforded amazing views from every aspect. Special touches are left for guests which included little flower posies and a scented candle along with glasses/water jug. A wardrobe was handy too, and even had a safe box inside it. The room was large enough for us to spread out with travel bags. David is a very informative man, and cannot do enough to provide for a comfortable stay. The breakfast options were very tasty, and fresh fruit was on offer too. We could also have a nice cup of tea and biscuit after a day out sightseeing. Our favourite place to sit was breakfast or a cup of tea or even dinner on the veranda. Such views! It was looking at a movie location each morning. Even the views from the hammock made one think they could holiday like this for quite some time. We'd never been to Nelson to visit and holiday, so this place made our stay here even more special.

David’s home was absolutely incredible. A historic home with incomparable views. It was sparkling clean and David had thoughtfully left out wine, eggs, and other groceries. Heated bathroom floors! We found his home the perfect place to stay as both a jumping off point for exploring Abel Tasman and enjoying Nelson. Book dinner at The Boatshed Cafe - it’s walking distance and you won’t be disappointed! David was incredibly easy to communicate with and a wonderful host.
