★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome grove of Californian redwood trees at the bottom end of Te Mata Park. You can access this area of the park via some of the hiking trails (see map in photos). There is a little shelter here with a picnic bench for sitting down for a rest or to eat your lunch. Great spot to go for a walk and listen to the birdsong.
