★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have a medical exemption for having breathing issues, I entered the store and was asked in a very rude fashion too put one on. I then showed my exemption only for him to ask for my vaccine passport.
The shop doesn't ask for the passes and also being a retail outlet doesn't need too. He then went on too say anyone could get an exemption and it's my shop I can discriminate if I want too.
This is pure discrimination unlawful rude and unprofessional i will not be coming near this outlet again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have to say, once, I did not even consider giving any reviews, but times have changed..... specially since Covid 19/omicron pandemic. Support New Zealand owned businesses....where ever possible.
So, heads up, for 'The Chook House, in Wahi.
Local's are very lucky to have such a shop.
Many places are not so lucky.
Great service, from whom I assume ,to be the owners, as well as the female a assistant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Witnessed an act of discrimination today in this store and feel quite disappointed in this shop.
A man was asked for his mask exemption as he wasn’t wearing one. He explained he has an exemption for existing respiratory issue. He shouldn’t even have to explain that , it no ones business . Once he displayed his exemption he was then asked for his vaccine pass. Retail isn’t mandated and there was no sign on the door saying they require it by choice .
I wasn’t asked for My pass , probably because I was wearing a mask. They obviously didn’t want him in the store just due to the fact he didn’t have a mask. When he explained that it isn’t mandatory for businesses , the two owners told him to blame jacinda. He responded that this is a choice to which they said “it’s my business I can discriminate if I want”
Will not be shopping here ever lol n the future . Sad to see what New Zealand has become. With so many businesses suffering , you’d think you’d welcome the money.
The worst part was that customer stated it was his birthday and just wanted some new clothes .
Super sad to see this . Hope
You guys revaluation your business practice and re adjust your morals .
