The Crooked Elm - Hutt Central
During a waxing moon some 100 years ago, our fabled Elm played host to a wandering musician who had stopped to rest under its canopy. As he rested the traveller sang a soulful melody and awoke a deep magic within the tree. The elm was infused with a sense of enormous well being and kinship.
Since that day it is believed that to touch the trunk of the tree during a waxing moon would bestow on that person the same sense of wellbeing.
This spirit lives on through us, representing the heart and soul of the community, so enjoy the warmth and fun that is the CROOKED ELM.

β β β β β Amazing english fish and chips. Complete with vinegar and mushy peas. In heaven. Goes great with a beer. Nice environment and seems like it would be a great place for all sorts including families. Look forward to coming back.

β β β β β I was a bit disappointed to be honest, the menu is mostly pies & burgers with fries. The brulΓ©e was cold.
One entree, two mains, 2 drinks, 2 desserts: $121 total surprised me a little. Bit expensive.

β β β β β Lovely spot on a sunny evening - excellent, friendly table service, great outside space; and the unexpected bonus of an a capella women's chorus doing Christmas songs for part of the time- nice without being deafening ? All together a great place for after work team drinks. Apologies for the wonky photo ?

β β β β β Had the cheeseburger and the brisket pie. Best meal we've had out in a fair while. Absolutely fantastic. Paired very well with a Cassel's real ale! Service absolutely top notch. Couldn't ask for more.

β β β β β Staff were so friendly and helpful, we didn't have a booking, but got a great table for 4 outside in the sun. The 2 men had the steak and my friend had the bangers and mash, they all raved about great they were. I had the smashed avocado, not quite as good unfortunately, eggshells and too much garlic. Would definitely go back again
