Hate the pokies. Really brings a tacky vibe and punches me in the face with the message that you're selling out the community for profit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food was ok and the service was average. My food was nice, but a very small piece of chicken. We went to the Green Man pub after a workshop, so they were catering to our group of over 40. A set menu was given, by the time they came to take our orders, there were items not available. Overall not a great experience from a hospital perspective. Cistcwas really high for what we got ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We really enjoyed The Green Man Pub. 4pm'ish when we arrived, nice and clean, not too noisy or crowded, comfortable seats. Good range of drinks and meals, prices were OK. Service was really good, our waitress was very good. There was a steady stream of people in and out. We will definitely be back, next time we're in Wellington.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Group of friends attended for the Wellington cup race day event, we were gutted that our original plans couldn't go ahead but from talking to the staff a couple of days before I knew we would be in good hands. The service was great, from having all our event vouchers prepared in envelopes already and reserving a table in the best spot. We were made to feel welcome and appreciated for coming in. Food was good and drink service was quick, even when we needed to stay seated. Everything was so great we ended up staying for the whole day, moving on to another bar just wouldn't have been any better.
Special thanks to Kimberly who rang me in the first instance to Tanya on the day, great work. Looking forward to your next event! :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I wasn't going to bother with this review, but they asked so here it is.
An average experience, with food that needed more love, especially as it wasn't exactly busy. The 'blooming garlic bread' is gimmicky and awkward to eat, and was dry and overcooked. Her steak was more medium-rare than rare, and my fried chicken was okay but lacking the crispiness I would expect with the word 'fried' in the menu description. I accept these are First-world problems, but it's disappointing because the only other people there already had their food. Assuming the kitchen wasn't rushed off their feet, why then could our meals not be shown a little more care by people paid to do so?
It was also disappointing that after 10mins the dirty dishes weren't cleared, and I did it myself. If this place can't cope when it's empty at 7pm on a Saturday night, how do they manage if they're busy?
We earlier had our dessert orders sussed, but by then we were over it and just checked out.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a great experience overall. had steak and chips as it was their special that night. Beautifully cooked. Had the mushroom sauce which had mushrooms in it and was yummy. They make a fantastic margherita here. Decent. Will come back for that and the relaxed vibe. Enjoyed the funky decor.
