Slightly bias, but totally accurate... Dad has a strong work ethic and prides himself in his workmanship! He has over twenty years experience as a house painter in Auckland.

We recently had our house painted by Chris Campbell. He was referred to us by our friends who had their house painted by House Painter. Well what a great referral this turned out to be. Chris spent considerable time preparing the house for painting and as well as waterblasting he completed minor repairs and informed us of his progress and offered positive recommendations. He was fastidious and extremely fussy. We had never seen a contractor who was so passionate with his craft. Often see him with his legs up in the air getting into the various nooks and crannies. No spot missed! We highly recommend Chris. His workmanship is of the highest quality. He is very tidy and leaves the premises rubbish free after each day. He even cleaned a few windows after the job was finished. He turned up every day and at about the same time. Some days he would have a helper and this gentleman was also a very good painter and could turn his hands to small repairs. Chris is well resourced with professional equipment including scaffolding. He made sure that the correctly specified paints were used. No cheap stuff used. If you are looking for a professional painter of good character you would be wise to consider Chris Campbell. You will not regret this choice.

I found Chris on the "No Cowboys" website. I had only just emailed Chris and a number of other prospective painters asking for quotes to paint the exterior of our two storey house, when Auckland was thrown back into Level 3 lockdown due to Covid-19. Chris and a couple of other painters contacted me that evening and said that they would come around to look at the house and give me a quote as soon as the lockdown was lifted. In the end, Chris was the only one who actually followed through and gave us a quote. I would normally want to wait until I had at least three quotes before choosing one, however I had already had another quote done a few years earlier from another painter and Chris's quote was exactly the same amount, so I knew that it must be a fair quote. So on the back of that, the reviews he already had on "No Cowboys" and his clear ability and willingness to follow through on his word, I chose to go with him. I was impressed with Chris and his colleague, Mike, from the very first day that they showed up to begin work. They were very well prepared and equipped for everything that needed to be done and were highly professional in their work. My wife and I have quite busy lives and as such, we are not very good with the general upkeep of our section; so the gardens alongside the house were overgrown with weeds and we had long grass and weeds growing up from the thin gaps between the outside walls of the house and the surrounding paths. The section looked a right mess! I had made an attempt to clear some of it as I knew Chris and Mike would need it cleared to be able to place their scaffolding and paint the walls. However, although it was outside of the scope of what they had quoted for, they went ahead and completely cleared everything for us, ripping out all of the weeds and overgrowth from the gardens and left our surrounding paths looking absolutely immaculate! They put a great amount of time and effort into the preparation of every surface that was to be painted. Our neighbour even commented to us how impressed he was at Chris and Mike's level of preparation work, as it is one of the most important things when painting a house in order to ensure the highest quality and durability of the final paint job. By contrast, one of our closest friends also just recently had her house painted by another, cheaper painter who didn't do such a good job with preparation and as a result the top coat of paint on her house is now forming large bubbles everywhere in the summer heat; so we know from first-hand experience that good preparation is of the utmost importance and it is something which Chris and Mike take very seriously. The thing which really impressed me the most was the level of pride that Chris took in his work. For example, he ended up doing about four top coats of paint on one side of our house because, although I couldn't see anything wrong with it, he knew it wasn't up to his own standard and so he kept going over it until it was. On the days when it was raining, he would work on the stairway walls inside. The area also included a couple of ledges and a window frame which wasn't included in his quote; however, he painted them anyway at no extra cost so that the whole area would be fully completed to perfection. For about two full months Chris was here every single day without fail, working diligently to see the job through from start to completion to the highest standard. Some days, particularly if he was close to completing an area, he would work late into the evening just to get the area finished. This year our house has reached its 100th birthday; however, it now looks absolutely brand new thanks to Chris and Mike's outstanding work carried out to the highest, most professional standard. My neighbours and even random strangers who have been passing by have been trying to recruit Chris and Mike after seeing the quality of the work being done on our house. I would absolutely recommend Chris and Mike to anyone looking to have their house painted.
