The worst dining experience ever. Don't go to this poorly managed and understaffed restaurant if you don't want to get disappointed. Extremely poor service from untrained staff who don't even know what's on their menu. Waitresses weren't able to serve 2 or 3 sodas from their menu, saying sorry these drinks aren't served this evening. Then 10 minutes after ordering, a waitress came back saying sorry seafood chowder wasn't on the menu for the evening - something which again should have been mentioned earlier. We then ordered scallops instead for the starter. She said okay will go check, coming back saying not on the menu. Seriously! We finished our starters, waited for 15 minutes with no dishes cleared, no main dishes being served, no one even looking our way although waitresses were right next to our table but avoiding eye contact to avoid getting asked for anything. After reminding them that we finished our starters a long time ago and are ready for our main dishes, we still weren't served for 10 more minutes. I told the waitress we are tired and hungry if we don't get our main dishes now we will need to cancel and go somewhere else. She apologised saying sorry we only have one chef today. It's not only today, as other reviewers mentioned having a similar experience 2 and 3 months ago, i.e., this is a recurrent issue at this restaurant. We then just paid for our starters and left. Waitresses seemed relieved that we decided to pay and leave with an incomplete meal. This place should just close if they don't have the capacity to serve customers properly. What a nightmare! Going to this place totally ruined our evening. Not recommended at all.

Don't let the front seating put you off, they have a second floor at the back with a lot of tables and a great view overlooking the bush. There's also a small bar with a craft beer selection on tap. The food was great and reasonably priced, they have an interesting concept range of both sweet and savory waffles. All the food was great, would definitely be there I go back to if I'm in the area.

Had dinner at The Junction Eatery last night. Lovely food, lovely people and they even had a band playing which was great! The family running The Junction Eatery are welcoming and their service is fantastic. They would do anything for their customers. I’m happy to support this local business and will be back.

The place was our first meal out with our new grandson and daughter in law, and we came from south island. Our 1yo made a mess and the service was unphased, cleaned up, and got all the dishes to the table together so we were all able to ear together. The fish chowder was amazing, and I am from Cape Cod Massachusetts ....we are chowder snobs. The salmon, the scallops, and the steaks were perfection. The views were amazing and the decor was beautiful.

Very disappointed. We arrived at 7pm for dinner, ordered drinks and meals. There was only us and one other family so you would think the service would be good and quick but no it was slow and we never saw the waitress much after they delivered the entree and main. I must admit the food was very nice but the portions were small. I ordered the scallop entree and when it turned up there was only three little scallops on the plate with a wee bit of garnishing around them. You would expect at least a few more for the outrageous price they asked. The staff didn’t even check on us once we finished the main course to see if we would like to have a dessert. We had to go find them and when we did we asked for the dessert menu and they said the kitchen is closed and they were closing up. We were gobsmacked. The food was delicious but the portions were very small and service was appalling. It was like they didn’t really care and just wanted you to eat and go. The price for what you got was over priced, Very very disappointed . It was the worst experience we have had in a restaurant. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Excellent food, value for money, friendly and approachable service from all. Dog friendly and understanding management refunded a miscommunication. Hard to get better value on the Shore.

Me and my friends enjoyed the food we had. From fries, big breakfast & my friend enjoyed her egg bennies as well (egg is cooked to perfection!) squid is also good, highly recommended. love the chocolate twist. but its too small for $4.50 for me. pls allow me to highlight the food i have ordered which is the Halloumi Salad. I love the sauce in my salad and its so perfect as a vegan option. Will definitely come back for this the reason why this is 4 is the service. there’s only 1 front of the house, and there is a waiting time. If u are in quick lunch break, this is not a perfect place for you. But i love the manager for being accomodating and helpful

A hidden gem in Birkenhead! Worth finding your way to the upstairs seating, sheltered or outside, for the stunning views and open air vibe. The friendly and helpful staff make this place a pleasure to visit ?? Great coffee and dinner drinks, and both a kitchen menu plus cabinet food. Always a relaxed and enjoyable experience here ?
