★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious food and great service at such a beautiful setting. We did the Kiwi Guardian walk around Riccarton Bush then had lunch at The Quarters cafe. Kids meal was perfectly sized and Adults meals were delicious (good coffee too)! Would recommend to all - thank you!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We recently visited Riccarton House for lunch and have to say the service was awful. We alerted a staff member that we had arrived for our booked table. The table had no umbrella on a very hot day and only one chair. We managed to get our own chairs from another table which was fully laden with dirty plates etc. We were given menus. Then, waited at least half an hour before deciding we would go to find someone to take our order. The staff on the coffee counter were having a conversation, so I waited and waited, in the end having to interrupt them to find out how I can get someone to take our order. The young man didn't know, so asked a passing waitress if she did table service. She said she would get someone. After a further wait we ordered drinks and meals. After a further 30 minutes we received meals, no cutlery, no water, no drinks. We had to go to the coffee counter to get our own water and remind the staff about our drinks. Overall, very disappointed in the whole experience. The only waitress that appeared to be working was a slim dark haired girl. She was working hard inside and outside.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place gets one star and I haven't even been there! I called to enquire about the Mothers Day High Tea this coming Sunday as I had a few questions. The person I spoke to didn't know much about the details and what the High Tea includes and suggested I call back tomorrow when the Events Manager was in so they could answer, and I quote from the person on the phone, 'your tiny little questions'. Now to me that sounds pretty rude, facetious and condescending. I was quite shocked.
So the reply implies I am lying about what I heard the staff member say. I know what I heard, why else would I post this review. And to add to that, I only had two questions.
