"I have been using my Seaboss 670HT for 15 years now and I love it. I have had it in the Motuihe Channel in Auckland when the wind opposes the tide and it gets rough – a dirty chop that stands up over a metre and is like a washing machine.
It can be dangerous, because it is so uneven and larger boats will take the long way around Motuihe Island than risk going through the channel. The Seaboss eats it up and this is important because when it is calm on the lake or the ocean, any boat is fine. But when the conditions change, that is when you want to have confidence in your hull. I have been in some large tinnies that ride hard, they slam into the waves. The Seaboss handles the rough stuff beautifully, riding smoothly. Of course how you run the boat is important, but I never have any doubts about its ability to handle the conditions.
My 670HT is now based at Lake Tarawera and I often fish with six adults with me and there is plenty of cockpit space – heaps of room – which is important for me. I have been in larger boats that don’t have anywhere near the space for fishing. And we catch fish! That boat has recorded over 800 trout in just five years, so it is a real fishing machine."

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic service. These guys helped me out at very short notice. Just fantastic. Tony is a credit to this company. Andre who answered my phone call and told me to come down. He had spoke to Tony and prepaired him.for my arrival.
What was a hoilday spoiler was resolved in a short amount of time, so we were back on the water in no time. Thank you again, we will be back.

I bought a second hand boat from the team at Thompson marine last year. They were highly recommended to me from a work mate. I got them to fit a ski pole to it before I picked it up, great professional job done. There were a couple of small issues that it went back in for and were swiftly dealt with at no cost to me. I think that can be expected with older second hand gear. I was told if there was any further issues while out that the boss would come to me on the lake to help! Fantastic to have people backing what they’ve sold. (Also amazing old fashioned service and great price of mind). Great shop with everything in it, cheaper and better quality than some of the online equivalents that I looked at. Its great for a fish on the sea and there’s been awesome family memories created on the lakes over summer with it. I’ll be back for a Seaboss upgrade (when the missus lets me).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I took my boat in for a service and expressed that I would like a good job done and if it costs more, then I am happy to pay. I even left it there for 2 - 3 weeks.
When I picked the boat up, there was an oil stain on the brand new upholstery, but I decided to not say anything hoping that the motor would be good.
Unfortunately, I did not use the boat for 8 weeks, lesson learnt by me! But when I did use it, it was worst than before I took it in. I did call them but as it was bank holiday weekend they were off.
After further investigation I found a multitude of errors.
Spark plug cap broken, oil fuel lines kinked, carbs dirty, broken gasket to name a few.
I repaired the problem myself, basically did everything I had asked them to do. I took the boat out a day later and thankfully it was fine.
I decided to complain as I was not happy that I spent over $500 but had to buy more parts and clean the carbs myself to fix the poor running problems.
Well..... in their eyes they can do no wrong!!
I was called into the office and the owner and lead mechanic questioned me, like I was on trial. The question posed to me was; what made me think that they were responsible. That the photos meant nothing. their words!
I tipped, when I was accused of playing a game.
However, to be honest and as they kept repeating themselves and contradicting there excuses, I knew that I was wasting my time.
I would rather part with the $550 then ever deal with them again.
So after consideration and taking into account how the issue has been dealt with (very poorly). I would advise extreme caution when using this shop.
I know I will be warning many people.
No customer service. Poor attitudes. Take the money and hope for the best is their approach.
Even 1 star is to much!
