Great weekend doing the Timber Trail, 2 nights at the Timber Trail Lodge worked perfectly. Fantastic local knowledge and stories from Rob in the shuttle, Kia Ora Rob! Accommodation is superb, clean and comfortable rooms, great food after a good days MTB riding and a beer or 2 from the bar. Locally owned and operated with great stewardship of local environment and land. Thoroughly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Timber trail Lodge is a gem. 39 kms in from Timber trail start, you are greeted by the expansive deck and inviting staff. Janine and the team were amazing......complementary pizza on arrival, cold beers and sitting in the sun on a bean bag...what could be better....
The rooms were super clean, comfy beds, great shower, with door onto deck looking out at the bush...
Dinner was amazing, beautiful chicken thighs with lots of salad and roasted spuds...great central hub with log fire and comfy chairs...
Breakfast next day was buffet continental followed by bacon and scrambled eggs...delicious....also given wrapped lunch for the trip ahead
Can't rate this place more highly...definitely worth the money....fantastic place and the highest attention to clients needs...????

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 1.The young host on duty when we arrived was fantastically helpful and friendly, showing us around and making us feel really welcome.
2.Things like the drying room and bike tools available for repairs, the luggage transfer area etc; everything is just so organised.
3.The room was big, dry, warm and cosy and the big bed was super comfortable.
4.The communal bathrooms were spotless.
5.The afternoon pizza’s went down a treat with a beer.
6.The free availability of tea, coffee, cookies and fruit is so welcoming.
7.Dinner was great and the social vibe in the dining room is second to none.
8.Breakfast was superb.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So well set up. Staff were great, the meals were home style, which was exactly what you wanted after a days riding.
Rooms were simple, clean, spacious. Only downside was the noise from the hallway as people went up and down to the bathroom during the night.
Easy bike storage, lovely deck to relax on after riding too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What an incredible weekend riding the Timber Trail. The organisation and communication from the lodge was great. We loved the accommodation, everything was very clean and comfy and the views from our room were amazing! The food was delicious, the pizza was probably the best pizza we’ve ever had! The meals were hearty, healthy and delicious. The trails were very well maintained and the swing bridges were great fun. All in all it was AMAZING!! Nothing we could fault. We will definitely be back!

The lodge was, for the first time in my New Zealand accommodation experience, way better than I was expecting. It was in fact how I would love it to be. I loved the fact it is off the grid, well built and there is natural light everywhere. The atmosphere is relaxing with positive vibes. The food was simple and delicious, well researched, and the team did their best to accommodate our dietary requirements. Thank you, we will come back for sure!
