The person was told twice that he would have to pay and extra $2 dollars and was asked 3 times if he wanted to go ahead with the order.
I also think that going online and trying to lie is the most in kiwi thing ever.

I ordered 1 chips and 1 fish for $7. When waiting there, I saw the manual $7 meal pack for 1fish 2 eggs and chips. I asked the boss whether I could still get the 2 eggs to match the meal pack? I paid the same price anyway. He said "will sort it out."
When picked up the food I was asked to pay $2 extra for the 2 eggs. I was not happy but still paid that, just didn't want to waste the food, also did not want argument.
The reason was given that the same price $7 meal pack does not have the same amount of chips than ordered separately. So the 2 eggs was charged for a fair price.
I respect the cooking, and the food. However, the way of communication was not ideal. It was really not feeling comfortable. I was asking whether able to match the same price meal pack deal, not ordering 2 more eggs separately. If not able to match the deal, it's ok to tell me. I would leave it as it is. $2 was not much, but any charges should be told before hand so customers could make informed decisions. Is it fair enough?
The manual was also misleading. Both 1 scoop chips, but one was less than the other, which confused people. If it was "1/2 chips" + 1 fish + 2 eggs = $7, I definitely know the difference. But it was " chips" + 1 fish + 2 eggs = $7. When realised that I paid $7 for 1 chips and 1 fish, the common sense was to ask if possible to match the deal to have the 2 eggs for the same price. But it was not the case.
The good thing is that I learned something new today, like never change the order, even for the same price and silimar stuff meal pack. Because the chips had different amounts in different deals.
Running a takeaway is not easy. Every dollar counts. I respect that. All the best.
